EAGLES DEFEAT BRUINS; ADVANCE TO SECOND ROUND

The Stony Plain Eagles completed the three-game sweep of the Camrose Bruins in front of a boisterous crowd at the Glenn Hall Arena on Saturday night.

The Eagles used a three goal first period to propel themselves to a 7-3 victory and a first round series win.

Scott Glennie once again led the Eagles attack, netting a pair of goals and adding an assist while Burke Gallimore, Travis Dunstall, Brendan Willey and Kruise Reddick all chipped in two points apiece.

Wyatt Hoflin stood tall in net for the Eagles, kicking out 32 of 35 shots he faced.

The Eagles will now move on to face the Lacombe Generals in round two, which begins in Stony Plain on Saturday night... Game time is 7:45pm at the Glenn Hall Arena.
