#7 – C – Nik Yaremchuk
The reliable and creative Yaremchuk is a native of St. Albert and is returning for his 4th campaign as a member of the Eagles. “Yammer” will be called upon to generate offense on one of the scoring lines with the club this season, in his career with the Eagles he has amassed a total of 51 points in 51 career games.
Yaremchuk, a four year member of the Sherwood Park Crusaders enjoyed a very impactful AJHL career as he totalled 77 goals, 97 assists for 174 points in 169 career games with the Cru from 2005-2009. During his time with the Crusaders, he was recognized as a member of the AJHL North Division All-Star team in 2008 and 2009. He was the team’s scoring leader in 2007-2008 with a total of 67 points in 60 games.
His offensive skill and work ethic later led him to an NCAA Division I scholarship with the University of Alaska Fairbanks Nanooks of the CCHA where he studied Business Administration from 2009 – 2013. While being a member of the Nanooks, Yaremchuk played in 144 games registering 31 goals, 48 assists for a total of 79 points. During his Freshman year, Nik recorded 24 points in 39 games that season which was good for 4th in team scoring and led him to be named an Honorable Mention for the CCHA All-Rookie team. As a sophomore he tied for 1st on the team in GWG (3), two of which were back-to-back overtime winners against Michigan State in the first round of the CCHA playoffs. Nik’s sophomore season, on and off the ice did not go without recognition as he was named as the team’s Top Playoff Performer as well as being recognized for Academic Honors by the Athletic Department.
Following his career at Alaska Fairbanks, Yaremchuk was signed to a contract with the Wichita Thunder of the Central Hockey League, where he and future Eagle Burke Gallimore were teammates. After a short stint in Wichita he returned to Alberta and has been a member of the Eagles since then.
